Cancellation & Refund Policy

At Terra Untold, we understand that travel plans can change. Our goal is to offer clear and fair cancellation, rescheduling, and refund conditions for all our photography experiences in Guatemala.
This policy applies to bookings made with Terra Untold, operated by Snider Consulting, including our Antigua Photo Walk, private photoshoots, and 10-Day Guatemala Photography Journey.
Please review the conditions below before confirming your booking.
1. Antigua Photo Walk
Free Cancellation
You may cancel your Antigua Photo Walk booking at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time and receive a full refund of the amount paid to Terra Untold.
Late Cancellations
Cancellations received less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time are not eligible for a refund, except where required by applicable law.
No-Shows
If you do not arrive for your scheduled Photo Walk, your booking will be considered a no-show and no refund will be issued.
Rescheduling
If you would like to change your Photo Walk date or time, please contact us as early as possible.
We will do our best to accommodate your request, subject to availability. Requests made at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time may be rescheduled without an additional fee.
Rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours before the experience are considered individually and cannot be guaranteed.
2. Private Photoshoots in Antigua Guatemala
Booking Deposit
A USD $50 deposit is required to secure your private photoshoot reservation.
The deposit is applied toward the total cost of your session.
Customer Cancellations
If you cancel your confirmed photoshoot, the USD $50 deposit is non-refundable, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
Any additional payments made beyond the deposit will be handled according to the cancellation conditions confirmed with you before booking.
Free Rescheduling
You may reschedule your photoshoot without an additional fee if you contact us at least 24 hours before your scheduled session.
Rescheduling is subject to the photographer's availability.
Your original deposit will be transferred to the new agreed date.
Last-Minute Changes
Rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours before the session will be considered individually.
We will try to accommodate your request whenever possible, but a new date cannot be guaranteed.
Cancellations by Terra Untold
If Terra Untold must cancel your photoshoot, we will offer an alternative date.
If no mutually acceptable date can be arranged, you will receive a full refund of all payments made to Terra Untold for that session, including the deposit.
3. 10-Day Guatemala Photography Journey
Our multi-day photography journeys involve advance planning and arrangements with accommodation providers, transportation services, and local activity operators.
The following cancellation conditions apply to confirmed bookings.
Cancellations 30 Days or More Before Departure
If you cancel 30 calendar days or more before your scheduled departure date, you will receive a 100% refund of all payments made to Terra Untold for the journey.
Cancellations Less Than 30 Days Before Departure
If you cancel fewer than 30 calendar days before departure, you will receive a 75% refund of the amount you have paid to Terra Untold.
The remaining 25% will be retained as a cancellation charge, subject to applicable law.
Refund Example
If you have paid USD $2,000 toward your journey and cancel 20 days before departure:
Amount paid: $2,000
Refund (75%): $1,500
Cancellation charge (25%): $500
These percentages apply to payments actually received by Terra Untold, not automatically to the full advertised journey price.
Payment Schedule
A 50% initial payment is required to confirm your reservation.
The remaining 50% is due no later than 30 calendar days before departure.
Bookings made fewer than 30 calendar days before departure require full payment at the time of booking.
Changes to Your Booking
If you need to change your departure date, please contact us as early as possible.
We will review available alternatives and let you know whether a change can be accommodated.
Any additional costs or changes to the agreed booking conditions will be communicated before you accept a new departure date.
4. Minimum Group Size
Our 10-Day Guatemala Photography Journey requires a minimum of two confirmed participants.
If the minimum group size is not reached, Terra Untold may cancel the scheduled departure.
We will notify affected customers no later than 30 calendar days before the journey begins.
In this situation, you may choose between:
Transferring your booking to another available departure date.
Receiving a full refund of all payments made to Terra Untold for the canceled journey.
You are not required to accept an alternative departure date.
5. Cancellations by Terra Untold
If we must cancel a confirmed Photo Walk, private photoshoot, or photography journey, we will first offer an alternative date or a comparable replacement experience where appropriate.
If you do not accept the proposed alternative, you will receive a full refund of all payments made to Terra Untold for the canceled experience.
We will communicate cancellations and available options as promptly as reasonably possible.
Nothing in this policy limits any additional refund or compensation rights available under applicable law.
6. Weather and Unforeseen Circumstances
Guatemala's weather and natural conditions can be unpredictable, especially in mountainous and volcanic areas.
Rain, cloud cover, volcanic activity, road closures, transportation disruptions, and other circumstances may affect an experience.
Minor Changes
If an experience can still be delivered safely, we may adjust the schedule, route, location, or order of activities.
Ordinary weather changes or reduced visibility do not automatically entitle customers to a refund when the booked service is otherwise provided as agreed.
Safety-Related Changes
If conditions make a planned activity unsafe or impractical, we may postpone, replace, or cancel the affected activity.
We will make reasonable efforts to offer suitable alternatives and explain any applicable refund options.
Full Experience Cancellations
If Terra Untold cancels an entire experience because it cannot reasonably or safely proceed, the cancellation provisions in Section 5 apply.
Any mandatory rights under applicable law remain unaffected.
7. Late Arrivals and Missed Activities
Please arrive at the confirmed meeting point at the scheduled time.
If you expect to be late, contact us as soon as possible.
Late arrivals may result in a shortened experience or missed activities, depending on the schedule and operational requirements.
Refunds are not guaranteed for activities missed due to a participant's late arrival or personal scheduling conflicts.
Any applicable statutory rights remain unaffected.
8. How to Request a Cancellation or Rescheduling

For cancellation deadlines, we use the date and time your written request is received.
All deadlines are calculated using Guatemala local time (UTC−6), unless otherwise specified in your booking confirmation.
9. Refund Processing
Approved refunds will generally be issued through the original payment method whenever technically possible.
Refund processing times depend on the payment provider and financial institution.
If you paid through ACH transfer, Venmo, or another approved method, we will contact you to arrange the appropriate refund process.
We will not impose an additional administrative refund fee unless it was clearly disclosed and is permitted by applicable law.
Refunds are calculated based on the amounts received by Terra Untold for the relevant booking.
10. Third-Party Travel Expenses
Customers are responsible for arranging their own international flights, travel insurance, and any other personal travel services not expressly included in their Terra Untold booking.
Unless required by applicable law or expressly agreed otherwise, Terra Untold does not reimburse independently purchased flights, visas, insurance premiums, or other third-party expenses when an experience is canceled.
We strongly recommend travel insurance for the 10-Day Guatemala Photography Journey.
11. Applicable Law and Customer Rights
This policy forms part of Terra Untold's Terms & Conditions.
Nothing in this policy excludes or limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer protection or travel laws.
Where mandatory legal requirements provide greater protection than these contractual conditions, those requirements will prevail.
